class=\"wp-block-heading\">Around the cabin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cabin is steps from the dock and beach, where you can launch a canoe or kayak any time you like \u2014 both are included in your stay. Nimpo Lake&#8217;s resident loons are vocal through May and June, and osprey and bald eagles are a regular sight overhead. In the evenings, the lake often goes flat and reflective just before sunset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fishing is good directly in front of the cabin: rainbow trout are active in the shallows early morning and again at dusk. Bring your own rod, or pick up a BC fishing licence at the resort before you head out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Year-round access<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mary Cabin is one of two cabins open through winter. The baseboard heating keeps the cabin comfortable in cold weather, and the wood stove adds warmth on slower evenings. Winter stays are notably quiet \u2014 very few guests, no boat traffic on the lake, and the kind of stillness that is hard to find anywhere else in BC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Snow can arrive from October onward.
