variety of birds through the season. Warblers pass through in May and June, swallows nest nearby through summer, and belted kingfishers work the shoreline most mornings. Osprey are common over Nimpo Lake throughout the season, and if you sit quietly with a coffee on the step before the day gets going, you&#8217;ll often hear more than you expected. A short walk from the cabin brings you to the lake&#8217;s edge and the shared dock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cabin was recently updated but keeps its original log character \u2014 the bones are old, the interior is comfortable, and the views toward the water and the mountains beyond are what you&#8217;re there for. An outdoor BBQ and shared fire pit are nearby, and the surrounding resort grounds give you room to explore on foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Seasonal stay: May to October<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Birdwatcher&#8217;s Cabin opens in May and closes in October, which lines up well with the best birding and fishing windows on Nimpo Lake. Early May brings the spring migration, while June through August is prime time for rainbow trout fishing and long evenings on the water. September and October offer cooler temperatures, fewer guests, and the start of fall colours across the Chilcotin plateau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cabin is heated by a wood stove, with firewood provided.
