Our Story

Nimpo Lake Resort grew out of a few simple cabins built on this shoreline in the late 1960s. For many years, it was run by Mary Kirner, who raised a family here and turned the place into a quiet hub for ranchers, loggers, bush pilots and travellers.

Today, the resort is still small and hands-on. We try to keep the focus on the lake, the cabins and the community around us, while honouring the people who came before.

What guests say

Very comfortable cabin with a fabulous view of the lake. The fireplace kept us warm. Very central to our interests — 2 hours from Bella Coola, which was our primary goal. I would stay here again.

We stayed for three nights and had a wonderful time. Our kids used the canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. It’s a wonderful place and we would definitely recommend it.

Camp host couple were super friendly and helpful. We had many fox sightings as well as free range horses come right by our site. Will go again if headed to that region!
