Securing Your Watercraft
Guests are solely responsible for properly securing any personal watercraft.
The resort is not liable for damage caused by high winds, rough water, inclement weather, or other acts of nature.
The dock is not designed for jet skis.
Any damage involving jet skis remains the sole responsibility of the guest.
Water Safety
There is no lifeguard on duty.
Nimpo Lake is deep, and conditions can change quickly. Guests must:
- Check weather conditions before launching
- Paddle into the wind first when using non-motorized craft
- Return immediately if winds increase
- All water activities are undertaken at your own risk.
- Parents and guardians must supervise children at all times.
- Approved personal flotation devices (PFDs) are required.
- Resort staff do not supervise waterfront activities.
Pet Policy
We are a pet-friendly resort with limits.
- A maximum of two (2) pets is permitted per cabin
- Service animals are always welcome at no charge
- Pets must not be aggressive; the resort reserves the right to deny entry or require removal
- Pit bulls or pit bull–mixed breeds are not permitted
Pets must:
- Be kept off furniture and beds
- Never be left unattended in cabins unless crated
Any damage caused by pets will be charged to the credit card on file within 48 hours of check-out.
Pet fees
- $30 per pet per stay (maximum two pets per cabin).
Small caged pets (e.g., fish, hamsters, rabbits) are not subject to pet fees.
Weather Policy
If roads remain open, Nimpo Lake Resort is considered open.
If Highway 20 or Highway 1 is officially closed by BC Transportation for more than four (4) hours before or after scheduled check-in, and you choose not to travel, a future credit equal to the deposit amount (normally 50%) will be issued. Credits must be used within 365 days.
Unless a formal road closure is in effect, standard cancellation policies apply.
No-shows are charged in full.
If the Nimpo Lake area is placed under an Evacuation Alert or Order by BC Wildfire Service, guests may cancel without penalty.
General Release
Guests acknowledge that Nimpo Lake is a natural body of water with hidden hazards and sudden weather changes that may result in serious injury or death.
Use of all resort amenities—including canoes, kayaks, docks, fire pits, and other facilities—is entirely at the guest’s own risk.
By booking, guests release and forever discharge Nimpo Lake Resort from any claims, actions, or damages arising from use of the property or amenities.
Photo ID Requirement
Because the resort operates with self check-in, a valid government-issued photo ID must be provided prior to arrival to verify the reservation and ensure a safe, smooth check-in process.
